Good, Bad, Ugly & Stupid

Good

• Some 15, 000 households in Perak, with earnings of less than RM750 a month, will enjoy 20 cubic metres free water beginning next month.

• George Town and Malacca join World Heritage List.

• The Education Ministry is studying the most suitable method to convert partially-aided schools to fully-aided schools on a case-by-case basis.

• The Finance Ministry is discussing with banks to reduce the monthly repayments for housing loans to lessen the financial burden of the lower-income group.

Bad

• A photograph of a nude 6 year-old girl on the cover of a high-brow Australian art magazine.

• An emergency motion for a royal commission to be set up to probe allegations made against Najib, IGP and AG was dismissed at the Dewan.

Ugly

• Bung Mokhtar showed a hand gesture in the Dewan.

• The British PM was served 24 different dishes during his first day at the G8 summit, where the global good crisis tops the agenda.

Stupid

• A proposal by Fomca and others to carry out a “Buy Nothing Day” campaign on July 16.

?

• IGP: The joint exercise by police and the armed forces should not be misconstrued as a threat to stifle peaceful assembly.

• Deputy Home Minister Chor Chee Heung: ISA detainees were not victimized and were treated well.
