Good

• This is the first time that Abdullah’s popularity has plunged to below 50 percent from a high of 91 percent in late 2004 with only 28% happy with nation’s direction. • Penang state assembly passed a motion urging the Federal Government to reinstate the RM4.7bil “people-centric” mega projects.

• To ease the burden on contractors affected by the rising cost of building materials, the government will include 11 new items related to the industry into the Variation of Price list.

• Robbie Keane joined Liverpool.

• Nicol David clinched her sixth straight title of the year when she retained the Singapore Masters.

Bad

• Parts of North Korea are experiencing their worst levels of hunger in nearly a decade.

• Malaysia has recorded its highest number of chikungunya viral cases.

Stupid & Ugly

• Some International Olympic Committee officials cut a deal to let china block sensitive websites despite promises of unrestricted access.

• John McCain likens Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton to portray him as a vapid celebrity who was unfit to lead.

Ugly

• The RM100mil police logistics scandal saw the delivery of sub-standard equipment, and put the lives of police personnel at risk and wasted taxpayers’ money.

• Education Department has barred SMJK Ayer Tawar from receiving PR lead Perak state government allocation.

• Thieves took away severely-disabled children rice bowl.
